The main thing with modern kitchthens is functinality.The yeras in producing kitchens as well as quick development of fittings and kitchen equiment brought the opinion that it is very important to know how much time you will spend in the kitchen and how to use it. To fulfill this important task, the operation of planning kitchens is important.The planning is done during measurments-takin dimensions of the space where the kitchen will be.

Kitchen planning includes planning the zones of using the kitchen as well as choosing of a speciific type of a kitchen that in our home it will provide a maximum space for storing food, gadgets and various utensil.

There are five kitchen zones:

  • Food zone- fridge, freezer,food not to be kept cold
  • Utensil zone- cutlery , plates, glasses, bowls, pots and covers
  • Cleaning and washing-up zone-sink,dish washer, drawers for cleaning products
  • Preparetion zone- main kitchen zone- gadgets, knives, bowls, spices
  • Cooking zone- oven and cooker, aspirator, lattens, microwave

The combination of these zones depends on kitchen types and one must take into consideration whether to put certain zones one next to the other or opposite from one another so as to shorten pacing and to make food preparation faster and easier.

There are six types of kitchens:

  • type U kitchen
  • type G kitchen
  • type L kitchen
  • kithcen with island
  • gallery type kitchen
  • lined type kitchens

Kitchens type " L" and plane kitches are mostly produced, according to a flat area, whereas in houses kitchens with island are more frequent as well as "U" and "G" kitchens.
